Inspired by her grandmother’s legacy as a missionary, she grew up understanding the importance of sharing God’s love with others. She later served as a student missionary in Chuuk, Micronesia, and participated in evangelistic crusades in Tanzania and Nicaragua. Her favorite Bible verse, John 15:16, continues to inspire her life and ministry.
Mrs. Hakes comes to us most recently from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She is a dedicated, Adventist educator with 30+ years of experience in teaching, administration, and program leadership across diverse cultural, public, and private settings, committed to whole-child development and to fostering rigorous, Christ-centered learning environments that build critical thinkers rather than “mere reflectors of men’s thoughts”. She graduated with highest honors from University of North Carolina – Greensboro with a masters in School Administration and Cultural Foundations, Southern College with a BS in Elementary Education and Minor in Psychology, as well as a BA in Music from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Ginnie has extensive experience teaching choir, handbells, and piano.
Fun Facts: Mrs. Hakes enjoys photography, playing the piano, and immersing herself in a good book. Above all, she treasures time with her husband and their two grown children.
